The giving total for August was $8,925! The People’s Project received $7,800 from our membership.
Here is a short recap of the meeting:
- This is our second year of doing good work, and this was our 6th quarterly meeting.
Before this meeting, FC 100+WWC members had donated a total of $33,100 to FC nonprofits! After collecting contributions from this round of giving our total donations will exceed $40,000. We should all take pride in that. Several new members signed up for this meeting. Keep spreading the word. Now more than ever, small nonprofits need our help.
- Four Nonprofits were nominated or renominated this round. They were: FC Community Meals Program, Songbird Sings, FC People’s Fund, and FC 4-H. Three organizations were randomly picked out of a hat to present at the meeting. They were presented by the nominating member in the order they were picked.
- The three nonprofits selected were: Franklin County Community Meals Program, Franklin County People’s Project, and Franklin County 4-H. (These are links for more information on these organizations and if you’d like to make additional donations to them.)
- The People’s Fund received the most votes with a total of 56 and is therefore this quarter’s gift recipient. The Peoples Fund is an all-volunteer solidarity fund that redistributes resources to those who need them most in our community. There is no overhead, as all funds raised go directly to community members. Donations provide immediate support to people in FC facing financial emergencies and family separation due to deportation, incarceration, and housing instability.
- The FC Community Meals program received 20 votes, and the FC 4-H received 8 votes.
