The Art Garden Selected for May Donations

Art Garden receives $7,050 from the May 2025 meeting.

Here is a short recap of the meeting:

  • Three local non-profits were presented by members: The Art Garden, Pride Day on the River, and Hilltown Youth Recovery Theater.
  • Each 5 minute presentation was engaging and informative and was followed by a Q&A with a representative of each non-profit.  Thanks to the members who nominated groups and made the presentations.  It is always difficult to choose, as all of the non-profits are doing amazing work in our community.
  • The Art Garden received the most votes and is this quarter’s recipient of the 100+WWC combined gift – we anticipate that they could receive as much as $8,000!
  • The Art Garden received 42 votes, the Pride on the River received 6 and the Hilltown Youth Recovery Theater received 39
  • If you have not yet made your donation, please look for the email from our Treasurer Amy Wales with instructions on donating. She sent it out on Tuesday/yesterday.

Short Summary of the presentation by a past recipient regarding the impact of our gift:

Leslie Chaisson came back to talk about the work that the People’s Medicine Project did since they received our donation back in November.  She talked about how many visits they had done that included massage, acupuncture, homeopathy, herbalism and more.  She mentioned how things are changing at the jail, and in the re-entry programs, and how PMP continues to try and reach those in need.  And she expressed great gratitude for 100+Women Franklin County!

Thank you to those who donated Raffle items:  Karen Blom-quilted Table Runner; Lida Bihun-traditional Ukranian Psanky egg; Lisa Khanna-beauty basket; and Clare Pearson-chocolate cake.

Introducing GRAPEVINE online donations portal!

We are introducing GRAPEVINE, a nonprofit organization that provides an online giving platform for giving circles like ours.  Using a platform like this saves both the nonprofit significant time and money processing checks and cash. There are no additional fees to the nonprofits or the giving circle if you donate through this site, only credit card fees.  It saves me time as well, as the Treasurer of this giving circle.  You can sign up and donate through Grapevine here.  Your donation through this platform, instead of sending a check, is greatly appreciated.  However, all donations are needed and appreciated and if you prefer to send a check, that’s fine too.
