Three non-profits made presentations at the meeting.
- Foundation For Community Justice (501c3) Nominating member: Lucinda Brown, Org Rep: Anne Diemand Bucci. The Foundation for Community Justice is an all-volunteer local foundation whose mission is to promote justice, healing and recovery in the Franklin County area through mini-grants, Waiting Room Welcome program, and program grants.
- The Permaculture Place (501c3) Nominating member: Karen Blom, Org Rep: Kay Cafasso. The Permaculture Place is centered around food security and production, climate resilience for gardening and environmental education for school students and community members.
- Hearth Girls Rite of Passage (Sponsor 501c3 is West Mass Training Consortium) Nominating member: Leslie Chaison, Org Rep: Eliza Hollister. Hearth Girls Rite of Passage is a program to guide teen girls through a transformative, multi-year rite of passage rooted in ceremony, community, and connection to the natural world while supporting them in becoming grounded, self-aware, and resilient young women.
All three organizations are doing such creative and inspiring good work in our community. It was a hard decision to select one!
- The Foundation for Community Justice was voted this quarter’s recipient of our group gift.
The voting was as follows: The Foundation for Community Justice received 52 votes, The Permaculture Place received 21 votes, and Hearth Girls received 13 votes.
